“I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?
Then said I, Here am I; send me.” Isaiah 6:8
We gather at Faith Church to worship and to be equipped for our witness and service in all the neighborhoods, schools and work places where God sends us throughout the week. Our missions and ministries are, and have been, both near and far, including outreach to neighboring communities here in Burlington County and in Philadelphia, Camden and Atlantic City, as well as service projects across the United States and missions abroad.
Faith’s New Mission - Native American Outreach
The Mission Committee is excited to share with you our decision to reach out in love and support of the PCUSA’s ministries in bringing Christ’s love to Native American Indians. There are 5.9 million Native American Indians in the US. Most of their churches are very small, some with physical buildings, but most without.
Rev. Irvin Porter of Tacoma, Washington ministers to 95 Native American missions and congregations that serve these amazing and proud people, and the church is working very hard to train more leaders to help with challenges they face, including suicide, drug and alcohol abuse, violence against women, unemployment and depression.
This is one of the least funded ministries and severely lacks the support needed to train and develop ministry leaders who can bring programs to the people. Please join with us in prayer and support for additional leaders who will grow, lead and develop these communities. Watch the bulletin board for more information on this amazing new mission.
