'...clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, meekness and patience.' Col 3:12

A Heart and Hand Ministry

  • To give away shawls, scarves and lap blankets that will literally wrap the recipient in prayer and comfort.
  • A ministry of blessing, comfort, hope, courage, strength and outreach to those in need.
  • To be tangible evidence of our church's prayers, love and caring.
  • To use our God given abilities in service to the Lord, for His glory.
  • And... for the fellowship and blessing of being a part of this small group.

Typically, we meet the first Saturday of the month in April, May, September, October and November, from 10 to 11 am. We meet for prayer, fellowship and creating (knitting & crocheting) the shawls and lap blankets, as well as for encouragement and support of each other and help with our knitting. We also make baby blankets, prayer pillows, pocket prayer squares, prayer keepers, scarves and rectangles for coverlets.

We are always seeking home knitters who can lend their time and talent to this mission, as well as beginners who are just learning how to knit. Please join us!

The PSM celebrated its 10th year with a special outreach to South Jersey migrant workers who pick blueberries and other crops in the summer months. Along with two other churches in the area and many home knitters, we knitted 500 pocket prayer squares that were added to hygiene kits prepared by the Migrant Worker Outreach mission. Thank you to all the volunteers who contributed their time and talents!
